An urgent appeal to
the residents of Kingston and friends of SWC
Save The World Club
is a local registered charity. We specialise in
turning the eyesores of our town into beautiful
pieces of art with mosaic murals to cover graffiti.
We work with thousands of local people and help
teach artistic and civic appreciation. We have
worked with young offenders, school groups and
workplace teams. We help bring a sense of community
ownership into our town, and we know by your letters
and comments that it is appreciated and valued,
thank you.
Our award-winning work has upgraded many areas,
including Kingston station, Elm Road playground,
Mount Primary School, Canbury Passage, Kingsnympton
and Cambridge estates, Castle Street in central
Kingston. Residents love our work. Graffiti in
Kingston is much less visible. Young people who
work with us have a huge sense of pride in their
neighbourhood and many will never start graffiti.
But we just cant do it alone. We absolutely
need your help. Please consider a donation towards
our anti-graffiti programme, towards materials
and concrete, for our core costs. The local council
RBK, and several individuals support our charity
enormously but rising costs and more complicated
mosaic art projects mean we are struggling to
keep afloat. Grants from funding bodies like the
Home Office are not available in a wealthy
area like Kingston upon Thames and yet we work
with many young people who have very little access
to other activities to keep them off the streets.
We have to work very hard indeed to raise every
penny to run our club and programmes.
PLEASE HELP US NOW
BE PART OF THE SOLUTION
At present we are raising money towards our core
costs to get a proper office, completion of Canbury
Passage and to buy a new vehicle for the Professor
Kayoss travelling show. We have also been collecting
for the refurbishment of the Kingston Welsh Hall.
We just wont survive without the support
of the community in Kingston. It really is up
to people like you to help, residents, parents,
friends and neighbours. You are our community.
Please consider helping our charity.
Any amount, however small, is much appreciated.
Thank you.
