In June our Chief Executive, Hugh Williams, attended Kingston University's Waste Electronic & Electrical Equipment (WEEE) Ideathon event to represent STWC as a guest organization and to judge the projects they proposed.
The uni, along with the Kingston Council waste reduction team, presented a number of possible ways - put forward by undergraduates from eight universities - to tackle the problem of electronic waste and help with local and wider socio-economic and environmental issues surrounding the disposal or repurposing of these items.
A big "thank you" to the Kingston University team for inviting us to take part as a local environmental and re-use charity. It was fantastic to share what we do with the students and also to hear so many well-thought-out possible schemes.
